This Turkey Quesadilla Burger is a mix between American and Mexican food and it definitely tastes as awesome as it sounds! The lean ground turkey and the variety and amount of vegetables that I added to this recipe make it very healthy! I got the idea from another food blogger and switched it up a bit! So if you enjoy the recipe PLEASE share!

Cost of the Turkey Quesadilla Burger

I got all my ingredients at Aldi. As you can see the homemade burger is much cheaper than eating in the restaurant, but it tastes just as awesome, plus its healthy too!

burrito tortillas 0.74

1 green bell pepper 1.00

cheese 0.70

sour cream 0.50

How to prepare the Turkey Quesadilla Burger

Sauté onion and garlic and add meat. Season with cumin and salt.

Mix corn, diced green bell pepper, tomatoes and avocado in a bowl.

lay the tortilla flat into a oil coated 10 inch stainless steel or cast iron skillet and sprinkle with shredded cheese until the cheese melts (I have it set on 2).

Take the tortilla out of the pan and add meat on one half of the tortilla. Then top the meat with the vegetable mix and 1 T of the sour cream dressing.

Fold the other half over and ENJOY!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 t ground cumin
  • salt
  • 4 large tortillas
  • shredded cheese
  • 1 can corn
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 3 small tomatoes
  • 1 avocado
  • 4T sour cream
  • red paprika powder

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion and garlic. Add meat, 1/2 t cumin and salt to taste and cook until meat is ready
  2. Chop and mix all the vegetables
  3. For the dressing mix 4 T sour cream, salt and red paprika powder
  4. Put the tortilla into an oil coated pan/skillet and sprinkle with cheese. When cheese is melted take the tortilla out and add meat, veggies and dressing (1T per tortilla) on one side, then fold the other side over and serve.
