I was always wondering how some bloggers managed to get a headline over their pin. I was searching for “How to get a headline on your pin” on google, but did not find anything.
Finally I realized the pins with the cool “headline” are called RICH PINS. They contain and show more information about your pin, which makes the pin easier to find(better SEO). This leads to more traffic on your website. Plus it is super easy to set up.
There are 2 steps you have to take before installing rich pins.
- A requirement to install rich pins is to have a Pinterest Business Account. You can convert your account by clicking HERE.
- Once you have done that, simply confirm your website, so that it is linked to Pinterest. This also helps you to view analytics between your website and Pinterest.
Now that you are good to go I will show you how to install rich pins through yoast. If you don’t have that plug in already installed I would highly recommend this. You will need this plug in for your rich pins and it also helps you to make your posts SEO friendly (so readers will find it faster on search engines).
Before and After using Rich Pins
On the before picture of my pin you can only see the description of the pin and the “saved by” below the picture.
Now after installing rich pins you can see the Author “2sharemyjoy” and the title of the pin above the picture plus the descriptions under the picture. If you have recipe pins your recipe details will also show up under the pin picture. If you have a sales pin the price will show up too. Another cool feature is, that the pin automatically updates the details under your pin picture. All the details that the rich pin contains helps readers to find your faster and better. Therefore, your page views will increase.
Above you can see the “headline” and below you see the pin with the recipe details.
